Hiding place

When our son Ed was four he liked to wander into woods near our house. I’d retrieve and discipline him, but it did no good.

One day I allowed Ed to stray off into the forest. I followed from a distance, hiding behind a tree. Deeper into the woods he went, and finally realized he was lost. Just as he began to cry, I stepped out from a hiding place. “So, are you ready to go home?” I asked Ed. If you are God’s covenant child, He promises to watch your paths.

Just when you think it’s hopeless, He is there to lead you home.
