It’s All Delicious
“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.”Matthew 13:43
There are some basic words every Christian needs to know and understand. To help us, a world-renowned scholar on biblical languages tells a story of “Mrs. Super Hostess.” She invites you to a meal, and you eat the hors d’oeuvres, and you say, “That’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten.” Then the main course comes along, and you say, “This is wonderful.” And while you’re still eating, you anticipate the dessert. If the hors d’oeuvres were that good, and the main course was unbelievable, the dessert is going to be out of this world. That is the way it is with salvation. Justification is salvation past. We come into a relationship with God in Christ, and we are justified before God. Then there is salvation present, and that is sanctification, the process of growing up in Christ and becoming mature. But even now we can begin to look forward to the dessert, and that is glorification.
We go to Heaven to be with God. And because of what God in Christ has done for us, we can be confident that God will “save the best for last!”
