"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” - MATTHEW 5:8"
To adulterate is to contaminate. “Adultery” describes sex-sin, but adulteration is even broader. It leads to weakness and eventually disintegration. Adultery in pagan Greece and Rome was punishable by death, as it was in Old Testament Israel. So adulteration of soul and spirit—like physical adultery—leads to a separation from fellowship with God. Some married people have affairs because they think they will be happy. But the pure in spirit know the happiness coming from the joy of walking in uninterrupted communion with God.
