"And whoever shall force you to go one mile, go with him two."Matthew 5:41
The second mile is important. But as someone who has been jogging for a long time, I can tell you that the toughest mile to run is actually the first mile.
That’s true in our Christian life as well. The first mile may not be glamorous or exciting, but it is the most significant mile of all. The first mile represents the basics in our daily walk – reading your Bible, and spending time alone with God.
The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He doesn’t say, ‘I’m going to join you on the second mile and walk with you.’ He joins us from the very first step we take for Him. He walks with us on that first mile - and every step of the way after that.
