Treat or temptation

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. - 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13
When I was growing up, the sound of an approaching ice cream truck could create a stampede of children in search of a cool, delicious treat on a hot summer day. If I were to hear an ice cream truck today, I would think more along the lines of “Wow! I would love some ice cream, but I shouldn’t.” It would be more of a temptation than a treat!
Temptation is like that. It can appear as innocent and harmless as an ice cream truck, but it can send us into a realm of life we don’t want to go, destroying our reputations, our families, our lives. So, when temptation comes, look for the escape God provides. It may be as simple as “Saying No” and “Running from the ice cream truck.”
